A South Dakota native, Hunter joined Forum Communications Company as a reporter for the Mitchell (S.D.) Republic in June 2021 and now works as a digital reporter for Sioux Falls Live and Forum News Service.

Hunter holds degrees from both South Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota Duluth, and has earned awards for his work in both states.

His primary focus is on crime and courts across eastern South Dakota, as well as local, state and national politics for Forum News Service — most notably involving the historic impeachment of South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.

When he's not working, Hunter is likely watching Breaking Bad or playing Xbox. He lives with his wife, Brittany, and two needy cats: Modafinil and Iridessa.
